The first equine dewormer approved in the United States for the treatment of equine tapeworms is Zimecterin Gold Paste Horse Wormer. Ivermectin and praziquantel are combined in Zimecterin Gold to give horses the greatest range of parasite control currently available. It has been established that praziquantel has a large margin of safety and is very effective at eradicating tapeworms in horses. Horses 2 months of age and older may use Zimecterin Gold. Breeding stallions and mares have not been subjected to testing.
