The Mullen Mouth Tom Thumb Pelham combines the function of a snaffle and the action of a curb bit. The top rein provides snaffle pressure to the tongue and corners of the mouth. The bottom rein increases leverage and curb chain pressure.
Curved bit to reduce the "nutcracker" action and to alleviate pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth. A mobile bit which discourages fixing and leaning on the forehand. Mild bit designed to create less pressure than a standard French link.
Very similar to a full cheek snaffle, the narrow arms which project above and below the rings prevent the mouthpiece from sliding in the horses mouth and emphasize the turning aid. The loose rings discourage fixing and leaning on the forehand.
The full cheek has narrow arms which project above and below the rings, preventing it from sliding in the horses mouth and to emphasize the tuning aid. This is a great all purpose training snaffle with the right amount of weight to keep a steady contact.

The French link in this bit means pressure is applied to both sides of the tongue. Horses with low palates may find this bit more comfortable as the mouthpiece should not contact the palate when the bit is in action.

JP bits have a curved shape that eliminates the interference that conventional bits can cause. All JP bits have curved bars to prevent the bit from hitting the roof of the horse's mouth and eliminate the nutcracker-like that can pinch the tongue.
The Dee ring compromises between an eggbutt and a full cheek snaffle, preventing pinching at the corners of the mouth and without the dangers posed by the arms of a full cheek snaffle.

Pelhams work on the poll, corners, bars, tongue and chin groove. The jointed mouthpiece lessens the nutcracker action. Copper and sweet iron encourage the horse to be softer in the mouth. Raised copper ribs help prevent the horse taking too much of a hold
The optional curb rein attachment allows this bit to be ridden with one rein, two reins or a converter to vary the amount of pressure exerted on the poll and by the curb chain.
The Barrel Dee Snaffle is a very simple single jointed Dee Ring bit that is suitable for horses of all levels. The Barrel Dee applies pressure to the sides of the tongue, bars and lips while the Dee ring cheeks apply pressure at the sides of the face.
If your horse tends to evade the bit or lacks suppleness through their poll/jaw, trying a copper snaffle might be just the trick! Copper horse bits have a sweet taste to a horse which increases their saliva creating a better environment in their mouth.
This bit has quality stainless steel & leverage action, stainless steel round eyes and exerts poll pressure with a leverage action caused by upper shanks.
